$5,000 Donation from Roof Advisory Group
Secured Turkeys for Family Holiday Meals
The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank has received a
$5,000 donation from Roof Advisory Group, Inc. This is
the third straight year that Roof Advisory Group, Inc. has
made this generous holiday donation. This donation was
used to purchase and distribute more than 375 turkeys to
families in need during the holiday season.
"We decided to make a contribution again this year to the
Central PA Food Bank in lieu of our typical practice of
sending holiday gifts to our valued clients as an
expression of appreciation for their business," said E.
Jeffrey Roof, President of Roof Advisory Group, Inc., a
leading investment management firm based in
Harrisburg. "Since 2011 has continued to be tougher than
most years for many families, both our staff and clientele
thought this contribution would again be a better use of
those funds this year" said Mr. Roof. "Hopefully our
donation of more than 375 turkeys will help some of those
families in need, particularly those with children, have a
happier holiday season."
"This donation by Roof Advisory Group is a blessing to
hundreds of central Pennsylvania families this holiday
season," said Kendall Hanna, Executive Director of the
Central PA Food Bank. "Many families that have never
before received emergency food are now asking for help,
and this donation will not only supply a traditional,
nutritious holiday meal, but will provide hope for the
coming year as well."
PinnacleHealth and GIANT Food Stores
Donates $5,000
With the need for emergency food assistance at record
levels, two of the area's most recognizable names have
partnered to assist the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank's
efforts to fight hunger. PinnacleHealth and GIANT Food
Stores made a combined donation of $5,000 to the Food
Bank in an effort to supply nutritious food to families
struggling with food insecurity. PinnacleHealth and GIANT
recognize the ever-increasing population that is struggling
with unemployment and underemployment and wanted to
do more to further the Food Bank's mission.
"Most of us enjoy three meals a day, snacks, holiday
dinners, and dinners at restaurants," stated Michael A.
Young, President & CEO for PinnacleHealth. "Access to
food is something that we take for granted. Yet, for many,
the lack of food is a fact of their everyday lives. At
PinnacleHealth, we are dedicated to maintaining and
improving the health and quality of life for all the people
of central Pennsylvania. We realize that access to food and
good nutrition are integral components of good health.
That's why we are pleased to make this donation to the
Central Pennsylvania Food Bank in partnership with GIANT
Food Stores."
