We Are Financial Advisors – Not Salespeople
As a fee-only financial advisor, we are here to serve our clients, not to sell products to them.
Roof Advisory Group’s advisory fee is always completely transparent and extremely competitive. We are very focused on the impact of the portfolio level cost structure as well. Our utilization of individual stocks and bonds for a significant portion of portfolio allocations dramatically reduces the operating expenses within portfolios.
In addition, given our fee-only structure, we avoid high-cost investment products that adversely affect investment returns. In many situations, this is a significant differentiating factor between us and other advisors who often receive compensation from the investments they select for their clients’ portfolios.
Total Portfolio management costs generally consist of two primary types of fees:
The annual management fee is charged by the advisor for the management of the portfolio. The advisor’s management fee is often based on a certain percentage of assets in the portfolio and should be very transparent. Given the transparency of this component of the total portfolio management costs, it is very easy to compare among different advisors.
The other components that should be considered are the operating expenses of the funds and other investment products within the portfolio as well as any commissions or transaction fees associated with buying and selling the underlying investments. Without a comprehensive understanding of this portfolio-level cost structure, clients are simply unable to make an accurate calculation of their total costs or make a fair comparison between different advisors.
